Thanks for visiting my blog!
My name is Emma Johnston and I am a sophomore at the University of Tennessee (Knoxville) majoring in journalism & electronic media. I have a wonderful family, a couple best friends, and a brilliant boyfriend who all work together to keep me sane. I work as a lifeguard, as well as a copy editor for the UT Daily Beacon. I also write a monthly feature for the Beacon called "UT's TikTok of the Month" --- inspired by the one-hit wonder TikTok I made of my dad and I in Paris going so viral that Newsweek wrote about it. After school & work, I lead a middle school girls' small group, and I take a lot of baths. I love to write in my personal journal, read, work out, sing, go on bike rides, take naps, drink cold brew, and overthink.

I started this blog because I love writing, I love telling people about my life (we're all a little selfish that way), and to see where it can get me by the time I graduate. I would love for it to one day become a travel blog I use to write about adventures abroad. Obviously, I lack both the resources and the life circumstances to start traveling now, so I'm starting small with what I've got. And that is just a perspective of life from the eyes of a college student in 2023.
fun facts about me:
- I own a pair of Heelys that light up
- I deejayed for 90.3 The Rock
- I often use my hair as floss
- I have a nail file on me at all times
- I have alarmingly small feet
- I eat Chick-fil-a every Wednesday with my
mom (a 7 years and counting tradition)
